Enhancing Social Services in the Canary Islands: Prioritizing Citizens’ Rights and Municipal Collaboration

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Aug 31 (EFE) Islands in order to guarantee the rights of citizens, since they are the “first door of entry” for the population.

During a visit to the municipality of Mogán in Gran Canaria, the Minister insisted that her commitment to the legislature that is beginning is to “strengthen the relationship with all the municipalities of the Archipelago, so that we can consolidate a true network of care for people, which has to the citizenship always in the center”.

The counselor, accompanied by the mayoress of Mogán, Onalia Bueno, and other members of her Ministry and the local Corporation, visited several local social care resources, such as the sheltered apartment and the day center for the promotion of personal autonomy for people greater.

Delgado has also indicated that his department will also implement the necessary measures to improve the contributions in terms of social services that are carried out in coordination with the Cabildos.

For her part, the mayoress of Mogán has highlighted the “absolute collaboration” of the Corporation that she presides over with the team of the Ministry to “work jointly in solving the problems of the citizens of Mogán as well as setting aside those initiatives that may help improve the social policies of the Archipelago”.

“Our priority is the citizens of the Canary Islands. This administration will always be available to sit down with the city councils and, together, decide how to meet the needs of each territory”, concluded Candelaria Delgado. EFE
