English women want to go back to the EM final – women’s football

The English women’s soccer team will meet the Swedes on Tuesday (21:00) in the semi-finals of the European Championship in their own country.

At the Bramall Lane stadium in Sheffield, England are aiming to reach the final of a major tournament for the first time since 2009. At the 2015 World Cup, the 2017 European Championship and the 2019 World Cup, it was all over in the semi-finals.

After England had stormed furiously through the preliminary round of the European Championship with three wins and 14-0 goals, the Lionesses had a harder time once morest Spain in the quarter-finals and only won 2-1 in extra time. The Swedes, who finished the group stage with two wins and a draw, underperformed once morest Belgium (1-0) and struggled through to the semi-finals with an added-time goal.

The winners of the match will play the winners of the second semi-final between Germany and France on Wednesday in Milton Keynes at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 31.
