English club Chelsea revived its hopes of advancing and reaching the first four places in the English Premier League standings, following beating Bournemouth 2-0, in the 17th round of the English Premier League (Premier League), at Stamford Bridge, on Tuesday.
The victory came following Chelsea failed to win the last three matches they played before the league was suspended due to the recent World Cup in Qatar, in which the England national team participated.
It did not take more than 16 minutes until Kai Havertz scored the first goal for the Blues, following a cross from Raheem Sterling.
And following just regarding eight minutes, Mason Mount added the second goal in the 24th minute of the match time, and he also celebrated his participation in the 150th match with the Blues.
And signs of satisfaction appeared on the face of Chelsea coach Graham Potter, who seemed happy with the wonderful performance of his team, especially during the first half.
And Chelsea might have increased the difference in the second half following a real opportunity that German Havertz missed to improve the score with a third goal.
With this victory, Chelsea raises its tally to 24 points, advancing to eighth place in the table, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, following winning seven matches, drawing three and losing five matches, and its players have scored 19 goals so far.
While Bournemouth remains in 14th place in the standings table, with 16 points, and played 17 matches, winning four matches and drawing four, while losing eight matches, and its players scored 18 goals.

The second half witnessed a remarkable improvement in Bournemouth’s performance, and there was a threat to the Blues goal, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga saved a dangerous ball from substitute Ryan Christie.
Chelsea steps forward

However, the team appeared better and solid as if the break was in their favour.
There was harmony and apparent strength in the performance, especially from the combined performance of Raheem Sterling, James, Mount and Italian playmaker Jurgenho, while Havertz and Pulisic worked hard up front to score goals.
Slow start for Bournemouth
Bournemouth’s slow start hurt the team and conceded two goals in the first half, and its players failed to move play into Chelsea’s half during the first half.
Despite coach Gary O’Neill’s attempts to rectify the situation in the second half and adjust performance, he did not succeed in making up for the two goals in the first half.
