When you play with the Everton Blues, you sometimes end up catching it. Lucas Digne, the French international of Everton, has asked to leave, revealed this Friday the coach of the Toffees, Rafael Benitez, who has not played since early December. The former PSG defender, 28, has not played for Everton since the Mersey derby, lost in early December to the Liverpool Reds in the Premier League. The club is 15th in the championship and the coach no longer relies on his French international side, still replacing last weekend against Brighton.

The Spanish coach believes the player has placed his interest above that of the club. “We must consider what we want to do in the future: try to improve or just to manage the egos (of the players)”, also openly questioned Benitez, evoking the Digne case, which according to him is more interested in “his personal statistics” than in the ranking of the club.
The French defender should not, however, run out of suitors to welcome him. An interest from Newcastle, Chelsea or Inter Milan has recently been mentioned in the English press.
