England have made a brilliant start to their second successive Euro final campaign, with manager Gareth Southgate saying the Three Lions gave their supporters the best night in 50 years with a 2-1 win over the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 semi-finals.

England won dramatically in the semifinal match once morest the Netherlands at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, Thursday (11/7) early morning WIB. Having fallen behind first through Xavi Simons’ goal, England equalized thanks to Harry Kane’s penalty.

The Three Lions’ victory was decided dramatically in the 90th minute through a goal from substitute Ollie Watkins.

Southgate led England to their first final in 55 years when they lost to Italy at Euro 2020. Now, Southgate has led England to back-to-back finals and will hope to go one better this time around.

“We gave the people a great night. We gave our supporters the best night in the last 50 years. I’m very proud of that,” Southgate was quoted as saying. BBC.

“I’d love for everyone at home to feel what we feel and what the people in the stadium feel. But we’re not done yet,” he added.

Euro 2024 has not been a smooth ride for England. They reached the final despite being doubted in the group stage. England also qualified following falling behind in the quarter-final and semi-final matches.

Southgate was heavily criticized by fans and former players. However, Southgate proved his worth by leading England to the final to face Spain.

“We have got the biggest test we have to prepare for. We came here to try to win the tournament and that is still our aim,” Southgate said.

“We all want to be loved, don’t we? When you do something for your country, you are a proud Englishman. You don’t get that back and all you read is criticism, it’s difficult,” he said. (P-5)
