England goalkeeper extends his contract with Everton

This extension put an end to rumors of the 28-year-old’s transfer to one of the teams competing for the English Premier League title, following he entered the last 12 months of the five-year contract signed with Everton in the summer of 2017.

Pickford, who moved from Sunderland in 2017 for $ 36 million, played more than 200 matches with the blue pole of Liverpool.

The team, which signed former Burnley coach Sean Dyche at the end of last January, is ranked sixteenth in the “Premier League” standings, a point away from the relegation zone.

“It’s great to sign this new contract with a team that is special to me,” Pickford told the club’s channel. “The support I’ve had from everyone at this club since my signing has been phenomenal for me and my family.”

He continued, “Everton is a great team. The past seasons were not what we wished for, but we have a coach who I believe will lead us in the right direction and raise us in the standings.”
