England captain fined for 10-year-old social media post

England women’s cricket team captain Heather Knight has been charged over a blackface (anti-black) social media post from more than a decade ago.

Heather was 21 at the time and was attending an end-of-season fancy dress party at a cricket club in Kent.

England’s cricket regulator said on Monday that he had been reprimanded and fined £1,000 (three hundred and seventy thousand Pakistani rupees), suspended for two years after admitting to the charge. .

“I am truly sorry for the mistake I made in 2012,” Heather said in a statement released by the England and Wales Cricket Board. It was wrong, and I’ve regretted it for a long time.’
