For a place in the final, the English will face Israel, with whom they already played in the basic group and advanced together at the expense of the Czech representatives. England won the first mutual duel at the championship 2:0.

Ukraine, whose victory over France was contributed by Georgiy Sudakov with two goals, also awaits a replay of the match from the group with Spain. The first matchup ended in a 2:2 draw.

After England’s quarter-final win, it was clear that the remaining semi-finalists would secure participation in the Olympic Games. The top three teams in the championship qualify for Paris, with the exception of France, who are assured of a place as hosts. England cannot fight for participation, because the joint team of Great Britain competes in the Olympic Games. If France advanced instead of Ukraine in the last semi-final, the two highest-ranked defeated quarter-finalists would play for the third ticket to the Olympic Games in an additional play-off.
