Energy voucher: Engie announces a significant discount for these customers with a special profile!

For several months already, inflation has upset the habits of the French. Indeed, the prices of the products increase considerably. The same goes for fuels, products of all kinds, in short, life has become harder financially. So business and government try to help the French by offering discounts or helpers. This is the case of Engie, we explain everything to you here.

Engie is worried

The most modest are the main source of concern for the government and other retailers wanting to help. Thus, for all households considered to be the most modest, Engie undertakes to make a discount. This is why, in next novemberthe subsidiary wants to grant a discount of 100 euros on average. And this per customer beneficiary of the Engie check. This information was announced by Group Chief Executive Catherine MacGregor duringa meeting with the Parisian last Thursday.

She states during the latter “We are aware of the inflationary reality and concerned regarding the difficulties encountered by our customers, whether they are households or industrialists.”. On the other hand, this measure is not free for Engie. Indeed, allocating such a sum to so many people raises the score to nearly 90 million euros. But in all, it would be close to 880 000 clients who can be helped this difficult time.

Energy voucher: “A civic gesture, to help our customers”

But Engie is not content to help only low-income households. Indeed, small and medium-sized enterprises will also benefit from aid. This is how a fund of support of 60 million euros seems destined for them. With this, Engie’s goal is to “allow them to have access to the guarantees they need to buy energy”, even to « payment facilities when they struggle to pay the bills” as Catherine MacGregor points out to the daily Ile-de-France.

But this help does not seem to have been debate launched in Parliament on the establishment of a tax on the profits of large groups, according to the director general. She would like to state that “It is above all a civic gesture, to help our customers. (…) Engie does not produce gas, but buys it and resells it at the market price. There is therefore no no excess profit”.

Many rumors had circulated on Twitter, including potential power cuts, without financial compensation. But all these rumors have largely been denied. If there should be Power cuts, it is clear that they will remain under control and of short duration. With regard to potential cuts in gas deliveries with Gazprom, Engie assures “been working for some time on different scenarios”. No matter the situation, « we will secure the volumes that we will need to serve our customers this winter”.

But it also declares the need for a energy sobriety”. This should be put in place now so as not to have any problems this winter. It is therefore everyone’s responsibility to pay attention to their consumption.. Whether for ecological concern or lack of food.
