Energy providers determined to contribute to job creation

Dakar, Apr 5 (APS) – The Collective of energy service providers approved by SENELEC (CNPAS), through the voice of its national coordinator, reiterates its ambition to help create nearly 100,000 jobs by 2025.

This commitment, in connection with the prospect of oil and gas exploitation in Senegal, is also part of the strategy implemented by the government in the fight once morest unemployment and irregular migration, said Fall.

“We are at least 8,000 approved service providers. And each of us employs an average of 10 people. This is important. , in its employment policy. These are the riches that we are bringing into this country in this way,” said Mr. Fall.

The national coordinator of the Collective of energy service providers approved by SENELEC (CNPAS) spoke with journalists on Monday evening in Dakar, as a prelude to the celebration of the first anniversary of its structure.

Officials, parliamentarians, elected officials, diplomats, players in the energy sector as well as representatives of employers are expected at this first anniversary of the CNPAS, scheduled for the last week of April, according to its coordinator.

The CNPAS intends to present on this occasion “a significant assessment” of its actions in the field, “in recent years”.

“One of the achievements of our collective is the establishment of the CNPE”, National Consortium of service providers around energy, “to better help us follow the recommendations of the Head of State, in terms of job creation and the fight once morest unemployment among our young people”, he underlined.

Birima Fall adds that the Collective of Energy Service Providers Approved by SENELEC (CNPAS) aims to contribute its expertise and “participate in the economic and social development of our country”.

“We want to be job providers in Senegal”, he insisted, adding that the Collective of energy service providers approved by SENELEC, in addition to being present “over the whole territory” of Senegal , has the gray matter and qualified agents for this.

“With these assets, we are in line with the logic outlined by the President of the Republic in terms of job creation for young people in particular”, indicated Mr. Fall.

The Collective of energy service providers approved by SENELEC (CNPAS), which operates in a “growth sector”, is counting on the prospect of oil and gas exploitation to “go further” to support the government in its job creation policy.

In this way, he hopes to contribute to lowering unemployment and combating irregular migration.

Birima Fall also said that the service providers approved by SENELEC have followed the recommendations of the Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Sophie Gladima, who had invited them to come together in “a large bloc for the good of the sector”.

“She told us that our unit will facilitate the work of the public authorities to support us in our mission,” he said.

Mr. Fall also assured that his structure works in harmony with SENELEC, whose general manager “has honored more than 80% of his commitments to service providers”.
