central – The head of the union of workers and distributors in the gas sector and its supplies, Farid Zainoun, considered that “the Ministry of Energy met the union’s demands by issuing the price-installation schedule today in line with the reality of the dollar exchange rate on the black market, as it issued the schedule on the basis of the dollar 32,000 Lebanese pounds.”
And he saw in a statement that “this matter addresses the imbalance in pricing between the distributor and the packaging companies, and bridges the gap in the instability of the exchange rate of the lira.”
He stressed, “The suspension of the movement and the strike, which the union council had taken a decision in this regard a week ago,” considering that “the move that the union intended to take accelerated the processing mechanism and put pressure towards the issuance of the schedule in a fair manner.”
Zenon called on the Minister of Energy to “open a responsible dialogue with all parties concerned with the chain of mobilization, distribution and sale, in order to draw a road map that protects distributors and consumers from the disruption of the money market.”
