From October, the energy price for the new Ökostrom Loyal tariff will be 19.8 cents gross per kilowatt hour. This is 24 percent less than the previous Ökostrom Klassik tariff, according to a press release on Wednesday.
Anyone who commits to a year can save around 30 percent on their electricity bill with a loyalty bonus and 30 free days. The discounted energy price is therefore 18.17 cents gross per kilowatt hour (15.14 cents net). With an additional combination discount, the energy price drops to 17.26 cents gross per kilowatt hour (14.38 cents net), which corresponds to a total reduction of 34 percent.
Energie AG said customers would be informed individually in the course of September. “We are keeping our promise that we will always reduce prices as soon as we can,” said Klaus Dorninger, the utility’s head of sales.

The prerequisite for switching to Loyal green electricity is that a standard product has been purchased up to now and that consumption does not exceed 100,000 kilowatt hours per year.
A household with an annual electricity consumption of 3,500 kilowatt hours saves 210 euros gross per year, while a large household with an annual electricity consumption of 8,000 kilowatt hours saves around 500 euros, it is said.
