“I am happy that such an impressive piece of engineering is coming to Lithuania and it will be possible to view it only during the Enefit 24H electric car race. It is even symbolic that the solar car will be presented in Panevėžys, a city famous for its robot creators,” says race organizer Darius Grinbergas.

The length of the car arriving in Lithuania is 4.95 m, width 1.75 m, height 1.3 m. It weighs 700 kg and can accommodate two people, each weighing about 80 kilograms. The car can go up to 100 km/h, but the top speed in the competition in Australia was 96 km/h.
The car’s battery capacity is 42 kWh, which means that the car can travel up to 1,200 kilometers on solar energy. The roof of the car is covered with solar panels (4 m2) and the panels used are 20% more efficient than conventional solar panels, as they are made of Sunpower monocrystalline solar cells.
Two in-wheel GEM motors with a total power of 5 kWh are used. Solaride uses 5 times less energy than the average electric car. For a car to be efficient, it must have very little air resistance. The air resistance of the solar car arriving in Lithuania is 30% lower than that of an average car.
September 20 at 7 p.m. During the Enefit 24H electric car race, the Solaride x Slowdown film screening will feature a documentary film about the production of the solar car and its achievements in the race.
The “Enefit” 24H electric car race will take place on September 20-21 at the Autodrome of the Panevėžys Training Center. Up to 15 teams, divided into 4 classes according to the distance covered by one charge, will aim to cover the longest possible distance on the 1.5 km long circular track.
