This text, which must be re-examined in a public session on October 12 during the group’s niche, plans to grant the approximately 1.5 to 2.5 million women affected an “exempt” long-term illness (ALD) status. “, with full care coverage. It also proposes granting those who wish it the status of disabled worker.

“We help women get out of an obstacle course”supported the RN rapporteur of the text Emmanuel Taché de la Pagerie, calling on other groups to “renounce political posturing” and vote on the text.

The parliamentary left criticizes the RN for wanting to give itself an image as a defender of women’s rights, by partly taking up proposals from a resolution that LFI MP Clémentine Autain had unanimously adopted in January 2022.

“Plagiarism cynicism, nothing stops you (…) You have rushed into the breach left by the government”, castigated the member for Seine-Saint-Denis, who had asked the executive to translate its resolution via a decree. The RN deputies argue that Marine Le Pen took a position on the subject during the presidential election.

“The RN project remains profoundly reactionary and sexist”criticized the environmentalist MP Marie-Charlotte Garin.

At the Renaissance group, Stéphanie Rist defended the government’s action and the “national struggle strategy” launched by Emmanuel Macron in February 2022.

She also criticized the text of the RN which, according to her, proposes “less than the existing law”, emphasizing that women suffering from endometriosis can already obtain certain support.

There are currently two lists, “ALD30” and “ALD31” which can provide rights to people with illnesses. The first allows 100% coverage, without advance costs, and the elimination of waiting days from the second stop. The second, which includes endometriosis, can provide access to these rights, but the status is much more difficult to obtain.

According to Mr. Taché de la Pagerie, none of the systems are satisfactory and too few of the affected women benefit from them.

The LR group, the only one to have tabled amendments, supports the principle of the text. The three groups in the presidential camp voted against. Some of the Nupes deputies abstained with the exception of some like the ecologist Sandrine Rousseau who voted against.

At the same time, the RN group also suffered a defeat in the Law Committee on its text aimed at establishing a presumption of majority for foreign minors who refuse to submit to a bone test.
