In France, nearly 10% of women of childbearing age are affected byendometriosis, according to the Ministry of Health. It would thus be the leading cause of infertility in France. While much research on the subject is underway, the trigger for this pathology currently remains unknown. Genetics or failure of the immune system: several hypotheses have already been put forward, but none have yet been confirmed. Scientists therefore continue to study the causes and aggravating factors. Moreover, recently, a study focused on the impact of pollution on endometriosis. A determining factor which would increase the risks of developing the pathology or which would even aggravate it.
