Endless Wellness: The Biggest Indie Rock Hope with Debut Album ‘Was für ein Glück’

Endless Wellness, perhaps the biggest local indie rock hope, has created a very nice first album with “Was für ein Glück”.

You can count the number of chances to make a first impression on one finger. And if you come up with “Some days I want to die / Other days I’d rather not,” then you’re making a big one. Especially when – mind you – your first single is regarding your sparrow, an even more powerful one. Endless Wellness not only has a great name, but also apparently great topics. The fact that you are being praised right from the start – who can blame those who praise you? The fact that they beat the band up in the small bars on Vienna’s belt is only as consistent as a contract with the indie giant Ink Music.

If an album is coming up following a few singles, which have always been really nice and very slogan-esque, a bit of caution is advised. Because then the question arises: Will they be able to do it over the long haul? Anyone who wants to stop reading now should be told: “Yes, you can do it!”

Neatly substantiated

Anyone who can squeeze a few more syllables into their attention span should also be told that the Salzburg group around Philipp Auer, which was only founded in 2021 but works with great romantic friendship, is perhaps the biggest indie rock hope in the domestic music landscape, which is quite dry in this regard – and that she underlines this properly on her debut.

This often results in quite beery folk rock with a good lead foot on the fuzz pedal and actually extremely danceable indie rock almost throughout, with good messages and lines. You need that too. Consequently, of course, predominantly once morest the system, post- and at the same time pre-fascism and the unfortunate climate policy. Favorite: “I don’t want to be a polar bear / I want a future” in “Thanks for everything”, which is not lacking in 80s references. Even if the overall sound is more 90s – if you need this classification to weigh up the level of your partying. If Endless Wellness also manages to become a song of the year 2023 with the aforementioned “Hand in the Face” (Spatzi!), you can only congratulate them. Congratulations!
