Endiama wants to take diamond production abroad – news

The National Diamond Company of Angola (Endiama) will work to internationalize business in the diamond sub-sector in order to broaden horizons and boost the Angolan industry, announced yesterday, in Luanda, the president of the board of directors (PCA), José Ganga Junior

According to the person responsible, this perspective results from the fact that, to date, there is no Endiama representative abroad, taking into account its size and corporate purpose. “We intend to have antennas or productions in countries such as Dubai, China and Hong Kong, to boost our industry”, said the PCA, who was speaking during a press conference, held as part of the 43 years of existence of the national diamond company.

He made it known that the opening of a diamond cutting company entirely owned by Endiama, that is, without participation or partnerships, is also part of the plans for this year. Since the creation of Endiama, he pointed out that several projects designed have allowed the creation of more than 20 thousand jobs, compared to the 12 thousand previously existing. Currently, he indicated, the country has a diamond cutting capacity of around 480 thousand carats, which corresponds to the installed capacity of 7 factories. JAM/AC
