End of time for POS – Fines of up to 1,500 euros for violators – 2024-07-17 05:15:51

As of January 1st, all the last 35 sectors that were excluded were included, so they too will have until February 29th to procure POS and to accept payments through it.

These include street markets and outdoor trade, kiosks, convenience stores and mini markets, taxis, insurance agents and brokers, advertising agencies and public relations agencies, as well as theaters and cinemas.

All of them POS must be procured by February 29, while if they have applied for the supply but the installation is pending, then the margin of compliance can reach until March 31.

The fines

The fine in case someone has not installed by then, can reach up to 1,500 euros.

We are talking regarding all industries now, although there are some exceptions, such as those who only sell wholesale, who only issue invoices.

Connect POS with cash registers

At the same time, until March 29, all businesses must connect the POS to the cash registers.

Essentially, following this the POS stops functioning autonomously, they will only accept orders through the cash registers.

So when someone goes and pays with a debit credit card they will definitely and necessarily get their receipt.

To see a little and understand the process, what has been done so far, where we are and what remains to be done in the next few days, in order to properly complete this obligation of ours.

In the first stage of the process we have the creation of the POS Registry. This has already been done.

It exists in the digital portal of AADE and all professionals can access and see the data of the files they have.

The second stage of the process is the upgrade of the POS which is done by the providers.

The business does not participate in this stage and is done remotely. Currently there is partial completion of this stage as there are POS that are up for upgrade.

When the POS upgrade is completed, the professional receives a notification from AADE, either by email or by a relevant update in the POS Registry.

From there, he will have to contact the technician who installed the cash register, in order to connect it to the now upgraded POS and make them work as one flesh.
