The Minister of the Environment warns of the risks associated with exiting the thermal.
The sale of thermal engine cars will no longer be authorized in Europe from 2035. This is one of the points on which the European Parliament agreed last week as part of “Fit for 55”, a series of legislative adjustments aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030.
For now, “we are nowhere in the negotiations yettempers Zakia Khattabi (Ecolo), Federal Minister for the Environment. Everyone prepares their weapons. What has happened is the preparation for the negotiation which will take place in 2024. The Member States are preparing their positions. We are currently in discussions with the various governments on the position that Belgium will adopt.
