The 2022 MLS season has just ended for Atlanta United, with a 1-2 loss to New York City. A season to forget for the Georgia State club which finished 11th with a record of 10 wins, 10 draws and 14 losses. However, Luiz Araujo had a decent year given the performance of his team. Having been sidelined for 1 month at the start of the season, the Brazilian striker finished with a total of 5 goals and 4 assists in 28 competitive games. This is his first full season in MLS.
However, the winger had a more complicated end to the season, as did his team, since he has not been decisive since August 18 against New York Red Bull, a match during which he provided an assist. The former Mastiff now has a few weeks of rest ahead of him before resuming competition, hoping for him that Atlanta will have a better season next year.
