the digital bank In, from Itaú, started to inform its customers this week regarding a change in the rules for income on the account balance. As of October 5th, the amount deposited will no longer yield 100% of the CDI automatically.
According to the statement from Iti, only the amounts deposited in the resource called “Metas” will continue to yield 100% of the CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate), an indicator that closely monitors the Selic, the basic interest rate in Brazil.
Therefore, customers who have money in their account will continue to earn 100% of the CDI until October 4th. The digital bank also highlighted that the Goals function will not change and will continue with daily liquidity and without charging IOF.
In addition, the amount placed in an Iti Target earns 100% of the CDI from the 1st business day. please note that the Goals function arrived at the digital bank in July last year and seeks to separate the money in the account according to the user’s choice.
Iti’s tool works in a very similar way Nubank’s Boxes and customers of Itaú’s digital bank can create up to five Goals for various purposes, such as buying a video game, changing cars or traveling, for example.
To create a Goal in Iti, the customer just needs to open the digital bank application and search for the tool on the home screen. It is possible to choose a name for the objective, such as “Trip”, for example, and it is necessary to deposit at least R$ 1 to start the income.
