End clap: the last little pink sachet of Alsa baking powder left the Lorraine factory just before Christmas

The factory that produced the famous chemical powder was bought by the Italian group Newlat, whose production was relocated to Germany.

We have all had these little pink sachets in our hands to prepare cakes.

Produced in Meurthe-et-Moselle since the creation of the Alsa brand, the baking powder was manufactured in the Ludres factory.

But it is now over.

The factory sold

The Dr Oetcker group which owned the Alsa brand has decided to sell the French factory to the Italian group Newlat, as reported CNews.

The sale is effective since January 1, 2023.

The factory will now produce yeast et cake mixes under the Minuto brand.

As for the famous sachets of yeast, they will be produced in Germany. The end of an era…
