End clap for France 5’s “Health Magazine” next June

The public group is working on another program focusing on “well-being, without neglecting health. “Marina Carrère d’Encausse remains an emblematic face of France Télévisions and reflects with the editorial teams” subsequently, it was clarified.

The doctor and journalist might, for example, devote herself to documentaries, as recently with “End of life: so you have a choice”broadcast in the evening.

The “Health Magazine” started in January 1998 with Michel Cymes, another star doctor on the small screen, joined in October 1999 by Marina Carrère d’Encausse. The first left the set in 2018.

The format, 7 minutes initially, had been lengthened over time. The program, currently 52 minutes long, co-hosted by Dr Jimmy Mohamed and journalist Rym Ben Ameur around guests and reports, is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 1:40 p.m.

Peaks at a million viewers

After peaks of one million viewers during the Covid crisis, it is followed by 450,000 people on average, according to its production company 17 Juin Media, a specialist in health topics which belongs to Newen France (TF1 group).

“It is quite normal that there is a profound renewal following 25 years, and well-being is in the spirit of the times”explains to AFP Benoît Thévenet, deputy general director of Newen France, involved from the start and who will propose a new formula to France Télévisions.
