THE young generation must be able to develop themselves by continuing to hone their artistic talents so that they can bring the creative economy in developing regions to be better in the future.

“As one of the largest carving centers in Indonesia, I am sure that the people of Jepara have high artistic blood. It is just a matter of how we continue to hone it so that the works of art that are born, including musical art, can be appreciated by a wider audience,” said Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI, Lestari Moerdijat when opening BISA Fest: Acoustic Music Harmony Performance held by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency with Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Deputy for Tourism Products and Event Organizers (Events) cq Directorate of Regional Events in Jepara, Central Java, Sunday (11/8).

Present at the event were Moh Eko Udyono (Head of the Jepara Regency Culture and Tourism Office), Mei Edi Setyana (Associate Expert Policy Analyst, Directorate of National and International Events, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy), H. Pratikno (Deputy Chairman of the Jepara Regency DPRD), Mario Alprino Mogot (music activist), and musicians participating in the BISA Fest in Jepara.

According to Lestari, who is also a member of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives from Electoral District II of Central Java, Jepara, with its rich artistic potential and tourist destinations, must continue to encourage the active involvement of young people in its development process.

Moreover, said Rerie, Lestari’s nickname, currently almost every cafe in Jepara is never empty of visitors.

This condition, Rerie explained, opens up many opportunities for music arts activists in Jepara to develop their talents so that they can play a role at a wider level.

Stakeholders, Rerie emphasized, must also be observant in seeing a number of opportunities from various talents in the region by providing a forum for art activists to be able to express themselves consistently, while continuing to build networks.

The NasDem Party High Council member really hopes that good collaboration between stakeholders in the tourism and creative economy sectors can be realized, in supporting the development of artistic talents growing in various regions in Indonesia. (Z-6)
