Encourage National Racers to Achieve at International Level

PERTAMINA continues its support for the development of young Indonesian racers who are participating in the 2024 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series, the fourth round of which was just completed on August 23-25.

Through collaboration with Valentino Rossi’s MotoGP racing team, Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, Pertamina has opened the way for Indonesian junior racers to improve their skills and understanding of the world of racing by studying at the VR46 Riders Academy racing school.

The form of support from Pertamina is to select the best racers in the Junior Sport 150 U-15 class who will gain new experiences with the VR46 Riders Academy.

Vice President of Corporate Communication Pertamina Fadjar Djoko Santoso said, Pertamina continues to be committed to supporting the growth of the racing ecosystem in the country. Through this fourth round of the national championship, it is hoped that the riders’ flying hours will increase so that they can be more competitive and ultimately be able to compete at a higher level.

“Pertamina encourages our national racers to be able to achieve at the international level. We hope that the championship that has entered its fourth round can trigger the growth of the racing ecosystem in Indonesia and will provide a multiplier effect on the racing and automotive industry in the country,” said Fadjar in his statement, Tuesday (27/8).

From the fourth round of the 2024 Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, MGPA, ITDC and InJourney as well as Bank Mandiri, Honda, LFN, Pirelli, Yamaha, Aspira Premio, GS Astra, BRT Racing, BRT Electric, KYB, Cargloss, Arai Indonesia, YSS, Pikoli, MS Glow for Men, RCB, Uma Racing, MFZ Racing, Hydro Coco, Chemco, Nissin Samurai Brake and Narmada, new records emerged.

Although there is one final round left, the tight competition in the standings finally gave rise to the National Sport 250 Champion title by Andi Farid Izdihar or Andi Gilang from Astra Motor Racing Team Yogyakarta. Andi Gilang managed to collect a total of 197 points after sweeping the two races competed in the fourth round. Another who managed to lock the National Champion title was M Adenanta Putra in the Supersport 600 class from Astra Honda Racing Team after posting 228 points

Meanwhile, the fourth round battle featured a local hero from Lombok, Arai Agaska Dibani Laksana from Yamaha KYB MFZ Dynavolt Privater HDS Racing who dominated the victory. Arai managed to dominate the race in the National Sport 150 Championship class by winning the first race and Superpole Race and taking second place on the podium in the second race. In addition, Arai also performed impressively in the Sport 250 class to finish first in the Superpole Race and take second place on the podium in the second race.

The new thing held in the fourth round is the Pitwalk session, where the audience can interact directly with all the racers and teams. They can take pictures and get a new experience enjoying the pitlane area and the starting line of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. (Z-6)
