Islamabad: Pakistan’s former prime minister and cricketer Imran Khan is embroiled in controversy following the audio clip of his conversation with a woman was leaked. The audio clips shared by Pakistani journalist Syed Ali Haider on YouTube have once once more created a stir in the country just months before the general elections. There are also some reports that the audio came from the office of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The audio clips that have gone viral are the latest to emerge following Imran Khan’s ouster as prime minister earlier this year. The clip features a conversation between a man and a woman. The man forces the woman to meet but she refuses. Discussing seeing the next day, he said, “My family and kids are coming, so we’ll see if it’s possible.” Let’s try to delay their coming” says the male voice. He can also be heard talking to the woman in a sexual manner in the audio clip.
But sources in Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said the audio clips were fake. They also accused the government of using fake videos and audios to target Imran Khan. “Opponents do not know how to oppose politically except by creating fake audios and videos,” PTI leader Arslan Khalid said.
Although it has not yet been confirmed that the voice in the clips belongs to Imran Khan, there is a huge protest once morest the former prime minister in cyberspace. Journalist and South Asia writer Naila Inayat tweeted that Imran Khan became Emraan Hashmi following the sex calls were leaked.
