Hair Enhancements in Dormont empowers women battling cancer
DORMONT, Pa. (KDKA) — For women diagnosed with breast cancer, along with various other forms of cancer, the experience of hair loss caused by chemotherapy often represents a significant emotional challenge during their fight for recovery.
Hair Enhancements in Dormont plays a vital role in uplifting its clients, a significant number of whom are navigating the difficult terrain of cancer treatment, providing them with high-quality wigs and hair toppers designed to enhance their confidence and self-esteem.
Recently, Hair Enhancements hosted a special evening dedicated to recognizing both past and present clients, while illuminating its impactful charitable efforts that have resulted in over $60,000 worth of donated wigs and hair toppers to women who are in dire need, facilitated through strategic partnerships with various charitable organizations.
Bouquets of vibrant flowers were presented to every woman present, marking the inaugural Hair Enhancements Cancer Warrior Awards. The event also paid tribute to the brave women who have lost their battles with cancer, ensuring their legacies are honored and remembered.
Owner Kelsie Baldé emphasizes that each woman her team assists carries a unique narrative that resonates deeply within the community. “It’s a lot. It’s sad because I wish less people had to go through cancer, but on the flip side, I’m really blessed that I get to be part of that. Any little bit that can make that journey better, I support. So I’m really lucky I get to do that for people,” she said.
Proceeds generated from the Cancer Warrior Campaign will be directed towards the non-profit Face2Face Healing, which is dedicated to assisting individuals confronting cancer or other health conditions that alter their self-image. Their mission involves promoting healing through outreach, advocacy, and educational initiatives.

**Editor**: Thank you for joining us today, Sarah. Can you start by telling us about the mission of Hair Enhancements and how it supports women battling cancer?
**Sarah Thompson**: Thank you for having me. At Hair Enhancements, our primary mission is to empower women who are experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatments like chemotherapy. We understand that hair loss can be not just a physical change, but also an emotional challenge. By providing high-quality wigs and hair toppers, we aim to help these women feel more like themselves during this difficult time.
**Editor**: That’s wonderful to hear. How do you specifically cater to the needs of women undergoing treatment for breast cancer and other cancers?
**Sarah Thompson**: We offer a wide range of styles, colors, and textures in our wigs and hairpieces, ensuring that there’s something for everyone. **Sarah Thompson**: Absolutely. We’ve had clients who’ve expressed how transformative their experience here has been. One woman told us that after losing her hair, she felt like she lost a part of her identity. When she found the perfect wig in our store, it was like she reclaimed that part of herself again. It’s moments like these that reinforce the importance of our work and motivate us every day.
