With a total funding of 75,000 euros, the Region of Western Greece is proceeding with the strengthening of the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipal Regional Theater of Patras (KEDIPETHE) until 2026.
The Regional Governor of Western Greece Nektarios Farmakis already proceeded to sign the Cultural Development Program Agreement, which is concluded between the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Western Greece, the Municipality of Patras and the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipal Regional Theater of Patras (KEDIPETHE) with the aim of cultural regional development and especially in the theater sector.
The programming concerns the development and implementation of the program with the aim of expanding the activities of the KEDIPETHE program, but also of ensuring its operation, so that it can seamlessly fulfill its role as an agent of cultural development in the wider region of Western Greece. Particular importance is given to the organization of theatrical performances, but also other related actions with multiple audiences, as well as partnerships with other cultural institutions in the region.
The contracting parties will participate in funding amounting to 155,000 euros each year or up to the total amount of 465,000 euros until 2026. In particular, the Region of Western Greece participates with the amount of 25,000 euros per year, with 80,000 euros the Ministry of Culture and with 50,000 euros the Municipality of Patreon
In the framework of the cooperation, the Region will provide all possible assistance to support the KEDIPETHE of Patras in the direction of the implementation of its artistic work.
Within the framework of the programming contract, a body is established to monitor its implementation, in which the representative of the Region of Western Greece is the Vice-Regional Governor for Culture Panos Bramos. “The Region of Western Greece is present in the effort for the smooth operation of the Municipal Theater of Patras. We are moving forward with a collaboration that marks the further development and expansion of KEDIPETHE’s cultural and educational activity. We want it to become a living “cell” of development and culture in the wider region of Western Greece. For the Region of Western Greece, strengthening the cultural awareness of citizens is a priority” said the Deputy Governor on the occasion of the signing of the Program Agreement.
