Pakistan and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) have signed a memorandum of understanding on the Pakistan Digital Stack. Support will be strengthened.
Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar was met by Global Growth and Opportunity Division CEO Bill and Melinda Gates on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Bank and IMF.
In the meeting, Pakistan Digital Stack was discussed which is the next generation supported Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) which Pakistan can introduce with the help of BMG Foundation. Additionally, the finance minister said in a tweet that global financial programs need to be adapted to the unique economic context of partner countries.
According to the tweet, he participated in an important event during the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Morocco on the topic of making the programs supported by the International Monetary Fund effective. Dr. Shamshad Akhtar outlined his vision for ensuring effective cooperation between governments and international financial institutions.
He has said that Pakistan is taking determined, comprehensive strategies and measures to deal with the challenges of climate change.
