Civil servants are obliged to present themselves today, Monday, 26th, at their respective workplaces, under penalty of being targets of “severe punishment”, in case these absences are not duly justified, informed the jurist. Miguel Victor Augusto, in statements to the Radio Luanda.
According to the jurist, taking into account that Christmas was celebrated on a weekend this year, “today is a normal working day”.
The celebration of Christmas is given as a national holiday in Angola, but, as the 25th of December was a Sunday, “it cannot interfere with normal working days, as established in the Basic Law of Civil Service”, he informed.
As per the Kianda’s mail previously published, on Thursday, the 22nd, the Government withdrew from the proposed collective work break that would run from December 23 to January 3, 2023. At issue, according to a source with the Government, is the leak of information much earlier deserving treatment from the presidential office, which would have displeased the president.
