In an emotional religious ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Divina Misericordia parish, on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, Erick Heredia was ordained as a Priest.

Before numerous representatives of the clergy, led by the Bishop of the Diocese of Buffalo-Pittsburgh, John Mack, Erick Heredia became pastor of the Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC).

Father Erick will be exercising his pastoral ministry at Divine Mercy Polish National Catholic Church located at 3844 Meadows Lane, near The Meadows shopping center.

It is worth mentioning that the PNCC is a religious group founded by Polish Catholic immigrants who arrived in Pennsylvania at the end of the 19th century, and since 1904 it has been in a state of formal schism after consecrating a bishop without the permission of the Pope. In other words, the big difference in this city, between the PNCC and the parishes of the Diocese of Las Vegas, is that it is not under the jurisdiction of the Pope and the Vatican.

Live a life that is dignified.

Bishop John Mack asked him during the sermon to “Live a life that is worthy of the calling you have received. Walk humbly in love and charity. He mercifully embraces the faithful of the church. And in your home share the spirit of God that unites and sets you free.

Dignity is precisely one of the virtues that characterize Father Heredia, “Live a life that is worthy of the sacrifice that Christ made. He walks gently patiently every day. Let hate and anger cease, love and grace increase. The spirit of God will renew and guide your path,” Mack specified, adding that “There is only one body and one spirit, one hope to which you were called; one Lord, one faith and one baptism, one God and one Father for all of us!”

For his part, Pablo Castro, as a proud Morelense, expressed “Father Erick’s ordination is a transcendental, historic moment, not only for Morelenses, but for the entire Hispanic community by having a new priest. The people will have a new religious ally.”

Castro Zavala is president of the International Federation of Morelenses and stated that “I feel very proud of his achievement. This is a very significant fact, especially in the religious field.

Many people agree that we are living in difficult times; violence, drugs and lack of moral values lead us to a destructive spiral. “In this church they have programs where they seek to rescue young people from the clutches of alcohol and drugs, it is not only coming to mass, but the faithful have the opportunity to take advantage of the mental health services they have here,” he said.

On the other hand, Guadalupe Loyo Malabar, one of the people who attended the ordination ceremony, commented that “as the mother of a family, the pastoral guidance of Father Erick will make us unite under the spiritual mantle of the priest; for parents and children who are in bad steps it will be a great refuge of assistance. It is a pride that we have another Hispanic priest in Las Vegas”.
