Emotional farewell for Sven-Goran Eriksson

Emotional farewell for Sven-Goran Eriksson

In recent months, the health status of Sven-Goran Eriksson, former coach of the Mexican and English national teams, has caused a stir on social media.

Eriksson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his doctor said that “at best” he would only have one year to live.

Yesterday, social media made him a trending topic again because he shared an emotional message.

“I am a healthy and sick man so far; to say that I am not afraid of dying, I suppose, is a lie. Sometimes it crosses my mind, but I try not to think about it,” said the former strategist.

He confessed that he has no idea when he will say goodbye, although he admits that he would like to rest in his native Sunne.

“Doctors don’t know how long I’ve been like this, it could be a month or a year. Now you can trick your brain, see the positive side of things and not let yourself be carried away by adversity, because this is, of course, the greatest adversity,” he explained.

“Don’t regret it, smile. Thank you for everything, coaches, players, fans, it was fantastic. Take care of yourself and take care of your life. And live it. Goodbye,” said the Swede.

The strategist has an idea about how he would like to be remembered. “Hopefully, in the end people will say, yes, he was a good man, but not everyone will say that. I hope they remember me as a positive guy who tried to do everything he could,” Eriksson concluded in his post.— EL UNIVERSAL
