After the departure of Ymre (32) due to her homesickness, another candidate dies prematurely due to the lack of home. This time that does not mean that no one has to go home to the island council. The result is two exits, over which tears flow freely.

“Saying goodbye is very difficult for me”
“The lack of home, my normal life, my children, everything, plays so through my head that I think: I just want to go home,” says Ellemieke, whose 75-year-old mother looks after her children in the Netherlands. She makes the decision and decides to go home, much to Ouassima’s sadness. “I never thought I would build such a bond with her. I just have a family member and saying goodbye is very difficult for me,” she says.
Crying, Ouassima gives Ellemieke a long hug. “I’m going to miss you,” Ellemieke also says to Ouassima in tears. She looks back on a ‘beautiful adventure’ with a ‘big smile’ and ‘grateful’. “It’s really time for me. Even though I will of course miss those girls, I also have very sweet girls at home that I have missed.”
In the previous episode, Ymre’s departure meant that no one had to go home during the island council. Instead, Jamie, who received the most votes, will receive a vote against in the next island council. But this time another expedition member will simply fly out, Art makes it clear before the immunity test.
Timor wins the test and leaves with Joy and Ouassima to winner’s island, where Vincent also stays. There he also wins the duel against Vincent. The actor returns to the group together with Joy and Ouassima for the island council, which has a predictable yet sad outcome.
Trendmaker Billy has to leave the expedition. “I thought I had friends,” laughs the fun letter from the expedition, who thought he had a bond with Kiran and Hamza. But he is a sporting loser. “Well played. (…) I came into the expedition with a smile and I will leave with a smile.” Although Billy is not too sad about his departure, Vincent is. He cannot hold back his tears during the farewell.
Will homesickness kill even more expedition members and who will be voted out during the next island council? Expedition Robinson can be seen every Sunday at 8 p.m. on RTL 4 and can be watched again on Monday on Videoland.
Let’s Dive into the Drama of Expedition Robinson!
Ah, the sweet scent of disaster wafts through the air with the latest episode of Expedition Robinson. It seems like homesickness has become the unsung villain of the show, lurking around like a moody teenager who didn’t get enough attention at the dinner table. Our contestant, Ellemieke, has decided to trade her tropical paradise and suffer under her mother’s watchful eye, where instead of dodging cannibals, she’ll be dodging dinner requests!
“Saying goodbye is very difficult for me”
Ellemieke, bless her heart, expresses a torrent of emotions that could fill a well, noting how her normal life calls to her like a siren. Honestly, her mother must feel like a babysitter who has just managed to sneak a Netflix binge while the kids are in bed! You have to respect her dedication, though. I mean, how many of us could leave behind the chaos of our homes for a reality show of starvation and sunburn?
Emotions Run High at Departure!
In a “group hug that should have come with an emotional support therapist,” Ouassima bids farewell to Ellemieke. The tears are flowing faster than a burst dam, with Ouassima channelling her inner Shakespeare saying, “I never thought I would build such a bond with her.” And why not? It’s like summer camp, only with fewer marshmallows and more existential crises!
And the Plot Thickens!
But wait, there’s more! We’ve seen a strange turn of events unfold since Ymre’s dramatic exit due to, you guessed it, homesickness. Is there a support group for this kind of thing? “Hello, my name is Ymre, and I miss my couch.” Meanwhile, Jamie gets a little warning shot across the bow – he may well be the next victim of this reality show bloodbath. Savagery, thy name is Expedition Robinson!
Timor also manages to snag victory in a test that may or may not involve eating bugs or competing in an inflatable obstacle course. Meanwhile, Vincent finds himself in a puddle of sorrow. Who knew a man could cry so freely over a reality show friend leaving? Honestly, the crying is unnecessary, mate—everyone knows that parting is just the universe’s way of saying, “There’s more drama yet to come!”
Will Homesickness Win?
Now, dear readers, the real question looms large: Will homesickness keep taking its toll on our brave contestants? Will they realize that no hermit crab or coconut can replace the warmth of a good old family gathering? Or will we see more tears flow like a broken faucet next Sunday? This reality ride is set to continue every Sunday at 8 p.m. on RTL 4, like a merry-go-round of emotions and bad decisions!
It’s a rollercoaster ride through the trials of human emotion—and let’s face it, we’ve all been there. So grab your popcorn, settle in, and prepare for the next round of emotional hijinks—because if nothing else, at least it’s better than watching paint dry!
Now that we’ve dissected the drama like a biology class gone wrong, what are your thoughts? Will the next episode leave us in stitches or in tears? Who will succumb to the homesickness next? Keep your eyes peeled, and your snacks ready!

Following the emotional exit of Ymre (32), who left the competition due to intense feelings of homesickness, another contestant bids farewell, highlighting the profound impact of longing for home on the remaining participants. The departure does not relieve the tension in the island council, where emotions run high as two contestants must leave, leading to tearful goodbyes.

“Saying goodbye is very difficult for me”
“The constant yearning for home, my everyday life, and my children weigh heavily on my mind, making me feel like I just want to go home,” shares Ellemieke, whose 75-year-old mother has been caring for her children back in the Netherlands. With a heavy heart, she ultimately decides to depart, leaving her fellow contestant Ouassima deeply saddened. “I never anticipated forming such a strong bond with her. Saying goodbye feels incredibly hard for me,” she expresses, wiping away tears.
In an emotional farewell, Ouassima embraces Ellemieke tightly, both unable to contain their tears. “I’m going to miss you,” Ellemieke assures Ouassima, reflecting on her journey with a “big smile” and feelings of gratitude. “It’s truly my time to go. Even though I will miss those girls dearly, I have precious daughters back home who need me.”
In the previous episode, Ymre’s exit created a unique situation where no contestant had to leave during the island council. This time, however, the stakes are raised—Art announces before the immunity challenge that one more expedition member will be eliminated.
Timor triumphs in the immunity test, earning a spot on the winner’s island alongside Joy and Ouassima, where they join Vincent. Timor also succeeds in a duel against Vincent, before the group heads back to the island council, which culminates in an expected yet heart-wrenching decision.
Trendsetter Billy faces elimination from the expedition. “I thought I had friends,” he muses, referring to his perceived connections with Kiran and Hamza while sporting an optimistic demeanor. Nevertheless, he takes his departure in stride. “Well played. (…) I joined the expedition with a smile, and I’ll leave with one too.” Yet, his exit leaves Vincent emotional, unable to control his tears during the farewell.
Will homesickness claim more expedition members in the upcoming episodes? Who will be voted out in the next island council? Expedition Robinson airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on RTL 4 and is available for rewatch on Monday via Videoland.
