France Télévisions claims that the actor’s comments of a sexual nature were aimed at a little North Korean girl riding a horse.

“Great admirer” of Gérard Depardieu, Emmanuel Macron declared Wednesday December 20 in the show C à vous, on France 5 that he did not wish to participate in a “manhunt” against the actor targeted by three complaints for rape or sexual assault.

The President of the Republic also reacted to the report by Complément d’investigation, in which we can see the actor making numerous demeaning and sexist remarks against women during a trip to North Korea. The sequence in which he sexualizes a little girl on horseback – “if he ever gallops she comes. She’s my little girl, keep going” – was particularly shocking.

Emmanuel Macron “is wary of the context”

“I am wary of the context, I understood that there were controversies (…) on the words which were out of step with the images”, declared Emmanuel Macron on the set of C à vous, echoing the column published in the JDD by the Depardieu family which affirms that the actor’s comments did not refer to a little girl.

In a press release published on “By relaying the hypothesis of a ‘discrepancy between words and images’ on part of the report, Emmanuel Macron shares ‘fake news’ and legitimizes attempts to destabilize the program”, writes the SDJ.

Contacted by The ParisianFrance Télévisions affirmed Thursday that there is “no doubt and no ambiguity about the fact that it is indeed the little girl in the image who is targeted” by the actor’s comments.
