“Emmanuel Macron will be a candidate as much as he can be”, assures Gabriel Attal

Almost a month before the first round of the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron plans to participate in the campaign and the debates, despite the war in Ukraine. This is what government spokesman Gabriel Attal assures us: the president will participate in “broadcasts” and “televised debates” devoted to the presidential campaign.

“Obviously the president will debate and exchange with the French”, assured the faithful of Macron, Sunday evening on the TF1 news set. “Like his competitors, he will participate in television programs and debates, where he will answer questions from journalists and editorialists. We will see the proposals that will be made by the television channels”.

Emmanuel Macron must go this Monday in the Yvelines “to meet the French and the French”, his first trip as a candidate, said Sunday one of the closest lieutenants of the president, Richard Ferrand. “Tomorrow, the idea is to be put in a situation with French women and men who will be keen to ask all the questions they want to ask”, explained the President of the National Assembly during the program Sunday in politics on France 3.

The candidate’s entourage had mentioned at the end of the week a trip to education, one of the themes on which Emmanuel Macron insists in his Letter to the French which formalized his candidacy.

The Ukrainian crisis “does not benefit anyone, we had to cancel a number of events – a meeting once more last weekend. Will this be a classic campaign for the president? Obviously not”, recognized Gabriel Attal on TF 1. “It is never a classic campaign for a president who represents himself”, he specified.

“This crisis is impacting everyone’s campaign.” But “Emmanuel Macron will have to continue to protect the French and Europeans from this crisis. The spokesperson assured him: “Emmanuel Macron will be president as much as he should be, and candidate as much as he can be”.
