French President Emmanuel Macron has already come close to Beninese soil. He was welcomed in Cotonou in the early morning of this Wednesday, July 27, 2022 by a Beninese delegation headed by the Minister of Affairs and Cooperation. The French Head of State will meet with his Beninese counterpart Patrice Talon, according to his presidential agenda.
After Cameroon where he spent 24 hours and discussed several subjects with President Paul Biya, the boss of the Elysée, arrived this Wednesday, in Cotonou, the second stage of his African tour.
On the very first image obtained by BENIN WEB TV, we might see the boss of France surrounded by the Beninese Ministers of Foreign Affairs Aurélien Agbénonci, Culture, Jean-Michel Abimbola and Economy and Finance, Romuald Wadagni.
Head-to-head Macron-Talon
In Benin, Emmanuel Macron will have a one-on-one with his host Patrice Talon at the Marina Palace. Issues of security, culture, are among others, topics that will be addressed by the two leaders, in a context of terrorist threats in northern Benin.
After the exchanges, Emmanuel Macron and his retinue will go to the rooms of the exhibition of the royal treasures returned by France to Benin. He is going to take a closer look at these religious goods which have stayed for several years at the Quai Branly in Paris. The last stage of the official visit of the French president will take place on the site of Sèmè City where he will address several questions.
