My mother club, Bollstanäs SK, gave me my first taste of the game.But my Italian roots always kept me connected to the passion and tactical side of football. Moving back to Italy at 16 to join Empoli’s academy was a dream come true. It allowed me to blend the discipline I learned in Sweden with the flair and creativity of Italian football.
Archyde: Speaking of Empoli, you made your Serie A debut and even scored in the Coppa Italia. What was that experience like?
emmanuel Ekong: It was surreal. Serie A is one of the most competitive leagues in the world, and to make my debut there was a huge milestone. Scoring in the Coppa Italia was special too—it’s a tournament with so much history. Those moments gave me confidence and showed me that I belong at this level.
Archyde: You’ve also been called up to the Swedish U21 national team. How does it feel to represent Sweden on the international stage?
