However, one can wonder regarding the reasons which pushed an anonymous feminist collective to hack the account of Emma Watson, herself a recognized feminist activist, appointed UN Women Ambassador in 2014.
Unless Emma Watson intentionally left her Instagram account in the hands of a feminist collective, as the independent media Misbar assumes in an article titled Emma Watson’s Instagram Account Takeover Does Not Mean That She Has No Approval Over Content Posted (“The takeover of the Instagram account does not mean that it does not approve the content posted”)?
As the author of the article points out, last November, the actress’ biography space stipulated that last November that this account was controlled by an anonymous feminist collective promoting the COP26, featuring a link to the replay of a panel discussion chaired by Emma Watson, in which activist Greta Thumberg participated. (Note that the link is still available on the actress’s Instagram account.) Why would hack a collective hack Emma Watson’s account to finally promote the actions of the interpreter of Hermione Granger?
Another element that might corroborate the fact that Emma Watson knowingly leaves her Instagram account available to the feminist collective: in the midst of activist publications that might be posted by the collective, there are more intimate publications on Emma Watson, including this photograph in which the young English woman appears, published following the pro-Palestine publication.
