Like Sam Smith and other celebrities, Emma Corrin, 27, considers herself non-binary. But after coming out in June 2022, the British artist who plays Diana Spencer in the series “The Crown” has stirred up intolerance in many people. “Naïvely, perhaps, I found it surprising how much hate I received for this. It was a real reality check. But for a lot of people like me, it helped them that I did,” Emma told Vanity Fair.
Saying publicly that you don’t identify with a man or a woman is important to her. “It helps a lot of people around the world to see someone living as a non-binary person in this society,” explain the star. As part of her job, Emma also finds that there are not many roles for non-binaries: “My experience on this earth has been a female experience, until recently, and I still love all these parts of me. I notice that I am not offered male roles, but I would also be attracted to that! Let’s hope that changes!”
