Emma Coronel and the curious birthday photo dedicated to the twins she had with “El Chapo”
Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán’s ex-partner shared a photo on her social media of the birthday greeting she gave to the twins she conceived with the Mexican drug trafficker.

The twins of Joaquín Guzmán, better known as “El Chapo”, María Joaquina and Emali Guadalupe, celebrated their 13th birthday on August 15, a date that coincides with the birthday of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, another of the Mexican drug lord’s sons.
Former beauty queen and mother of the girls, Emma Coronel, posted on her Instagram stories a photo of a slice of chocolate cake decorated with flowers and a “Happy Birthday” message, in honor of the twins’ birthday celebration.
In this post, Coronel did not share photographs of her daughters, as she has preferred to keep the girls away from the public eye.
Coronel, who became pregnant with Guzmán Loera at the age of 21 while he was a fugitive from justice, has on other occasions celebrated her daughters’ birthdays with extravagant parties, sharing the photographs through social networks and being strongly criticized by users.
In addition to the twins, El Chapo Guzmán is known to have had between 12 and 13 children from three different marriages.
Several of his children decided to follow their father’s legacy and have been accused of committing criminal acts, as is the case of Ovidio and Joaquín Guzmán López, sons of the drug lord’s second wife, Griselda López.
