Emirates News Agency – “Zayed Humanitarian Foundation” discusses its future projects in Niger

ABU DHABI, 26th August / WAM / A delegation from the Republic of Niger praised the efforts of the UAE and the initiatives of the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation in helping Niger through many programs and projects, most notably student housing at the Humanitarian University at a cost of one million and 700 thousand dollars, and the project of drilling wells in the regions drought-hit, in addition to seasonal programs such as the Zayed Al-Jah Program, fasting breakfast programs and other aid, which amounted to 8 million dirhams.

This came when Dr. Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Director of Programs and Projects Department at the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, received in his office at the foundation’s headquarters, H.E. Hamido Wankwe Sabo, representing His Excellency Leon Maggi, Minister of Humanitarian Action in the Republic of Niger, and a high-level delegation of representatives of humanitarian organizations.

During the meeting, the two parties reviewed the cooperation efforts between the Foundation and the Republic of Niger, and Al-Zaabi presented a brief overview of the Foundation’s projects and programs inside and outside the country, which included the five continents, and regarding 188 countries, especially the least developed countries, the most in need of assistance and the poorest in the world without racial, religious or regional discrimination. .

Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zaabi explained that the countries of the African continent have received the Foundation’s development projects that would support the development process in societies and alleviate the suffering of peoples in them, especially in times of crises or natural disasters, as is the case in the drought and flood season.

The two parties also reviewed the future projects of the Republic of Niger, especially relief ones, which contribute to achieving a decent life for the affected and afflicted during crises, in addition to major projects such as education, health and others.

Dr. Al Zaabi said: Thanks to the proceeds from the endowment of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the Foundation continues its charitable and humanitarian role and is working on preparing studies internally and externally to develop its strategic plans in accordance with the noble human values ​​pursued by the state to deepen the roots of international humanitarian cooperation In tolerance, cooperation and peace.

For his part, the head of the delegation of the Republic of Niger prayed for mercy and forgiveness for the owner of the white hand, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul.” In crises, he expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts of the Sustainable Foundation in helping peoples stricken by disasters, especially those whose homes were destroyed by rain and floods in his country.
