Jeddah, August 1st / WAM / The Union of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation “UNA” organized today a virtual workshop for the member news agencies of the federation to introduce the “World Media Congress”, in cooperation with the Emirates News Agency “WAM” and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company “ADNEC” “.
The workshop witnessed the participation of representatives of more than 40 official news agencies in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in addition to news agencies in countries that have observer status in the organization and a geographical spread covering four continents.
The workshop dealt with the expected positive repercussions of the global media event that Abu Dhabi will host from November 15 to 17 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, and with the participation of a group of media industry leaders at the regional and international levels.
For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), revealed in a speech delivered on his behalf by Ali Yousef Al-Saad, Acting Deputy Director-General of WAM, that the World Media Congress will bring together a global elite of media makers in the fields of press, radio, television and multimedia. And digital marketing, artificial intelligence and innovation in the content of social networking sites.
He stressed that Congress will help through its dialogue sessions and interactive discussions in identifying opportunities and challenges for media institutions and companies, finding effective solutions and innovations, and drawing future features that serve multiple media aspects, pointing out that Congress will also have a pivotal role in enabling innovative businesses and re-imagining the concept of companies on The level of harnessing artificial intelligence techniques and journalistic algorithms in the production of various media contents.
His Excellency explained that the advantages of participating in the World Media Congress include regional media companies, which will be able to build and develop a digital business model using technologies and applications with major companies in the region. Noting that multinational media institutions will also be able to conclude agreements and qualitative strategic partnerships with These institutions have a wide global reach.
The workshop began with an opening speech delivered by His Excellency Mohammed bin Abd Rabbo Al Yami, Acting Director General of the Federation of News Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in which he stressed that the World Media Congress comes in light of the rapid developments in the global media scene, whether in terms of production techniques or in terms of consuming media and information content. He stressed that news agencies are more required than others to keep pace with these developments to maintain their role as a reliable news source and enhance their share in the international news scene.
Al Yami considered the Congress an unprecedented opportunity for member news agencies to learn regarding the best global experiences in the field of media and communication and to explore the latest innovations, both in terms of content and building media platforms.
Al-Yami expressed his hope that the workshop would represent an opportunity to link the member news agencies with the World Media Congress and to strengthen their relations with those in charge of its organization to benefit from it and contribute to its work and to participate effectively in the workshops and exhibitions it provides for the benefit of the member agencies and enhance their awareness of the latest practices and methods in the field Media work.
For his part, Natan Waugh, Director of Events Department at Capital Events, gave an introductory presentation on the World Media Congress and what it allows for the participating parties to access the Gulf markets and the Middle East region and hold special meetings with major international companies and the most prominent international experts, in addition to working on transferring knowledge in the field of Media, researching investment opportunities and building partnerships.
He reviewed the themes of the conference accompanying the Congress, which is held under the slogan “Shaping the Future of the Media Sector”, which focuses on three main themes: investment and opportunities in the media sector, innovation and the latest technologies in the media, youth and the future of media.
He expected the conference to witness discussions on innovation, launching new products, holding workshops and panel discussions with the participation of prominent international speakers, in addition to special sessions on artificial intelligence.
Waog added that the World Media Congress will provide an incubator for innovation and startups, giving individuals and institutions the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities and enabling startups to present their business ideas to shareholders, investors, and venture capital companies.
He indicated that Congress will organize a special program to enhance business opportunities between international and regional exhibitors and buyers, who will be hosted by Congress, including CEOs, corporate owners and those with significant purchasing power.
