Geneva, February 21, WAM / The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of the dangers of the spread of respiratory diseases, cholera, measles and hepatitis A in the earthquake-hit areas in Syria. Dr. Catherine Smouloud, Director of Earthquake Incidents at the organization, said today that with regard to cholera, the monitoring system is not able to fully report so far on all cases, although the organization provides the affected areas of western Syria with cholera management supplies and also complements the existing cholera treatment centers with new facilities for the areas where new communities have been displaced. because of the earthquake.
And it reported that the workers who went with a supply convoy to Afrin pointed out that there is still a need for specific supplies for patients with chronic diseases, injuries, acute respiratory infections, mental health services, physical rehabilitation, and infectious disease risk management, as the displaced live in close quarters.
