ABU DHABI, 23rd February, 2020 (WAM) — Next Sunday, the activities of the third meeting of the Higher Committee for Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development will begin in the Jordanian capital, Amman, which includes Jordan, the Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain, to discuss the latest developments and industrial projects that have been agreed upon between countries. Members, in addition to approving the recommendations and report of the Partnership Executive Committee.
The meetings of the Supreme Committee are chaired by His Excellency Youssef Al-Shamali, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply and Minister of Labor in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Engineer Ahmed Samir Saleh, Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and commerce in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The partnership countries cooperate to achieve qualitative growth in the industrial sector in the four countries, through integration in resources and industries, and benefit from the competitive advantages in each country through concerted efforts and teamwork that leads to cost reduction, securing supply chains, creating more job opportunities, and contributing In economic development, promoting self-sufficiency, and in a way that enhances growth and industrial competitiveness.

The meetings of the Supreme Committee will also witness the signing of agreements between industrial companies in various sectors following their approval as a first stage, followed by the announcement of new projects with investments estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars, as the Executive Committee will continue to study new projects in the targeted sectors, in a way that leads to strengthening this partnership and enabling The industrial sector in the four countries, increasing the contribution of the industrial sector to the gross domestic product, supporting supply chains, reducing costs, and providing new job opportunities for the competencies in those countries.

It is scheduled that the meetings of the Supreme Committee will be preceded by the meetings of the Executive Committee, on Saturday, February 25, 2023, with the participation of chairmen and members of the committee from the four countries, in addition to representatives of industrial companies in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Kingdom of Bahrain. Where the Executive Committee will prepare its report for presentation to the Supreme Committee, on the latest achievements and proposals to empower the industrial sector in these countries.
The integrated industrial partnership for sustainable economic development was launched in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in May 2022, with the participation of the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, while the Kingdom of Bahrain joined, during the second meetings of the Higher Committee for Partnership in Cairo in July of this year. the past.
