Emirates News Agency – The karate team raises its tally to 6 medals in the Arab Championship

CAIRO, July 30 / WAM / Our national karate team crowned its efforts and distinguished level in the Arab Championship, raising its balance to 6 colored medals “3 gold and 3 bronze”, with the conclusion of the championship activities today, Saturday in Cairo.

The team added a new achievement to UAE sport through the competitions of this tournament, which was held over two days, with the participation of 8 Arab teams.

The gold medals went to Marwan Al Mazmi in the men’s individual kata competition, Hawra Al-Ajmi in the women’s individual kumite 50 kg competition, and Fatima Salem in the women’s individual kumite event of 68 kg.

The bronze medals were won by Ahmed Salem in the men’s individual kumite 67 kg, Muhammad Jassim in the men’s individual kumite 75 kg, and Marwan Al Mazmi, Youssef Faraidooni and Abdul Ghani Muhammad in the men’s collective kata competitions.

Dr. Abdel Awal Mohamed Abdel Rahim, Assistant Minister of Sports and Egyptian Youth, crowned the winners, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Seif Al Badi, head of the UAE delegation, Dr. Ibrahim Qannas, President of the Arab Karate Federation, and Mohamed El Dahrawi, President of the Egyptian Federation of Karate.

He praised Dr. Abdullah Al-Badi, with the efforts made by the Karate Federation headed by His Excellency Major General Nasser Al-Razouki, and his keenness to support the efforts of all the players of our team participating in the tournament, and his continuous motivation for them to represent the state in this great Arab forum, which had a significant impact on achieving these achievements in the Arab Championship. .
