The English national team will meet in the quarter-finals with its French counterpart, the world champion, who beat the Polish national team 3-1 today also in the second round of the tournament.
During the first half hour of the match, the English national team was clearly the most possession of the ball, but the Senegalese national team was the best in terms of opportunities thanks to the repeated offensive attempts from Ismaila Sarr and Boulaye Dia.

Henderson (32 years and 170 days) also became the second oldest player to score a goal for the England national team in the World Cup following Tom Finney, who scored the Soviet national team in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, and he was at the time (36 years and 64 days).
The England national team took advantage of the Senegalese confusion following the goal, and Harry Kane scored the second goal for the team in the third minute of stoppage time for the first half, following an attack led by Bellingham also, and a pass from Phil Foden, which Kane took advantage of to score his first goal in the current World Cup.
The two teams resumed their offensive attempts in the second half, and Kane and Bukayo Saka put pressure on the Senegalese defense, which resulted in the third goal, with Saka signing in the 57th minute, following a pass from Phil Foden.
