Emirates News Agency – The “Ecowest” exhibition and forum will start next January in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 15th December / WAM / The activities of the EcoWaste Exhibition and Forum 2023 will be held during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, from January 16 to 18, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, in organization and in strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company, Tadweer.

The agenda of the exhibition and forum reviews the leading role of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in promoting the trend towards a circular economy, highlighting the role of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in this field, and identifying the innovative methodology adopted by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in sustainable waste management, as well as solutions designed to address the waste crisis. In the Middle East and North Africa region, which is expected to double by regarding 255 million tons annually by 2050 in light of increasing urbanization, according to World Bank estimates.

Ecoquest highlights the sources of revenue and investment opportunities that the circular economy provides to emerging and existing companies in different sectors. The forum program includes keynotes, case studies and panel discussions detailing innovative and effective methodologies to create new value from waste, and the use of technology in waste management.

EcoQuest is also looking at landfill diversification strategies, waste-to-energy studies, elimination of single-use plastics, and development of waste management technologies.
