Emirates News Agency – The conclusion of the summer activities of the Al Ain Scouts Commission

Al Ain on August 2, WAM/ The Al Ain Scouts Commission – under the umbrella of the Emirates Scout Association and in cooperation with the Leader Kids Club in Al Ain – concluded the activities of the summer camp, which was held with the participation of 150 scouts representing government schools in Al Ain, under the slogan “Scouting technology and innovation”, which was organized by the Association in cooperation With the Emirates Foundation for School Education.

The closing activities of the camp coincided with the celebrations of the World Scout Bandana Day, which falls on the first of August. The activities and programs included in the summer camp program varied and included scouting activities that included teaching the participating scouts the basics of the scouting movement, represented in the promise and the law and the skills of using ropes, knots, ties and other scouting arts. In addition to sports activities that varied between self-defense, swimming, gymnastics and equestrian.

The closing activities of the summer camp included several distinct activities that began with memorizing and reciting the Noble Qur’an, drawing and handicrafts, training in various scouting skills, and sports games and competitions such as: fencing, swimming, karate, kickboxing, and distributing certificates, prizes and medals to cubs, flowers, scouts and guides. Winners and top achievers in various activities.

Khalil Rahma, Secretary-General of the Association, explained that the scouting activities organized by the Al-Ain Scouts Commission were characterized by deviation from the norm to achieve maximum benefit for the young people participating in the camp. He thanked the parents who were keen on the presence of their children throughout the camp activities, believing in the benefit that the students gain through their participation in the summer activity and investing their free time in what benefits them.

Khaled Al-Saadi, member of the Board of Directors of the Al-Ain Scouts Commission and the general supervisor of the summer scout camp in the Al-Ain Scouts Commission, confirmed that this year’s summer camp witnessed a great turnout from different age groups, reflecting the parents’ keenness to involve their children in scouting activities, which were prepared to suit the needs of young people and youth. It contributes to their integrated development that takes into account the physical, cognitive and mental aspects.

The parents stressed the importance of the scout camp for the children and demanded the continuation of scouting activity throughout the year and not only in the summer, because of the benefits they saw that were reflected in the children’s behavior and the development of their various abilities.
