Emirates News Agency – The Arab Parliament for the Child elects its president and two deputies

SHARJAH, 26th February, 2020 (WAM) — The Arab Parliament for the Child elected its speaker and two deputies, during the first session of the third session at the headquarters of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The election came through an electronic election program, during which all standards of integrity and transparency were taken into account so that all members of the Arab Parliament for the Child exercised their democratic right to choose their president and two deputies under the dome of Parliament, where eight members applied for candidacy, so the second round of voting ended with the Kuwaiti Janan Jaber Al-Sharif winning the position of President of the Arab Parliament for the Child. Presidency of the Parliament and in turn complete the course of the session.

After that, the way was opened for the election of the first and second vice-president of the Arab Parliament for the child, and the results of the vote resulted in the victory of Hala Jahlil from Palestine as the first vice-president of the Arab Parliament for the child and Hebatallah Al-Alami from Morocco as the second deputy, while the Committee on Child Rights and the Activities and Events Committee were elected.

After the elections ended, His Excellency Ayman Othman Al-Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child, congratulated the winners, all of whom were girls who raised their thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and to the Arab League for their support to represent the voice of the Arab child, stressing that their efforts will focus on enriching the work of Parliament during the third session.
