ABU DHABI, September 14, WAM / The National Archives and Library will host the 33rd Conference of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information in Abu Dhabi from October 31 to November 2, under the slogan “Integration of Information and National Knowledge Institutions in the State “Libraries, Archives and Museums”, with the participation of a large number of specialists Libraries, academics, experts and officials from official and private libraries, archives and museums.
In its dialogue session, the conference will discuss the National Library Charter, which defines a policy for managing, developing and diversifying the cultural content of the National Library, including books, periodicals, maps, multimedia, and others.
The themes of the conference include the National Library in the third millennium and its future role, archives, document centers and national museums in the third millennium and the future role, national policies and strategies for information and knowledge in the country, the role of information and knowledge institutions in supporting national development plans and visions, national libraries and partnerships with national, regional and international professional institutions The integration of roles and tasks between national libraries, archives and museums, national libraries and their role in preserving the national heritage, the role of national libraries in developing information and knowledge legislation and laws, the role of national libraries in supporting national policies and strategies for the knowledge economy, and the role and impact of emerging technologies in the operations of national knowledge institutions/libraries Archives and Museums / New trends in content management systems, digitization, and the management of museums, archives and national libraries. In addition to many workshops and specialized sessions that will be held on the sidelines of the conference.
Hamad Al-Humairi, Director of Research and Knowledge Services Department at the National Archives and Library, said that the institutions covered by the themes of the 33rd conference of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information are arenas and fields of knowledge, and they are among the most important edifices of science, knowledge, culture and civilization, and therefore they deserve attention.
Al-Humairi confirmed that the National Archives and Library will hold a specialized professional dialogue session for the participants – on the sidelines of the conference – to present the developments and developments of the decision to annex and establish the National Library, which is intended to match the largest national libraries in the world, and be a civilizational and cultural beacon for the United Arab Emirates.
For his part, Dr. Hassan Al-Suraihi, President of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information, praised the holding of the conference in Abu Dhabi, which represents a civilizational and cultural beacon that attracts international cultural events.
He explained that the conference is concerned with scientific and knowledge content that revolves within the scope of innovative ideas, projects and initiatives at the level of distinguished practical and professional experiences, and gives the participants an opportunity to present their intellectual and cultural output within the framework of the conference’s axes.
